I have tried adding programmes to the list in DEP to no avail. So for now, my internet isn't shutting down when I click on a link inside the program. So lots of things will not work because explorer shuts down. This will knock out all addons and settings.
Did people in China resort to cannibalism during the reign of Mao? I hope you can help solve this problem. That fixes IE; I leave to you the decision whether it's easier to live without Java or put up with Sun's bullshit.

You might want to try this as well. my msn does not work on my vista computer i have followed all your steps about disabling DEP for individual items. Norton no longer supports PW manager 2004 and that should be enough reason to not install it! Nothing have helped especially the command-line excution works even!
bcdedit.exe/set nx AlwaysOff bcdedit.exe/set nx AlwaysOn GOOD LUCK! I would hit OK and then it would shut down IE 8.
